So a friend forgot to put the 'Apt #' section on his address for a SR shipment. Now he's really worried it wont show up or that he'll have to do some investigating/talking to management at the complex to find the package. What do you guys think? Anyone have experience with this situation or have any tips to go about it? Hes thinking to just let the management know he's expecting mail, and that it may be missing the apt. #, so they'll put it in the right mailbox if the mailman leaves it at the front desk. Is this a good idea? Thanks guys, hes starting to get worried...

The postman should be smart enough to figure it out.

Possibly. Some apartment complexes have hundreds of rooms, I highly doubt the mailman remembers who exactly lives where.

I wouldn't worry. If it is with your local guy then I think it made it through the postal inspector. He will probably just send it to the main office. They've gotta have some general mailbox. And can you really see the manager opening something up to see if there are drugs in it? That would be crazy behavior.

We're actually getting worried :-[ The apartment complex says they don't hold mail and that it'd go back to the post office. Now that would really suck if it got sent back to sender (if it even has a return addy) or if he had to go pick it up at the post office :o The name on the envelope wasn't written on the mailbox up until today (friend just put his name on the box) and counting today its been 8 days since marked shipped. (Canada to US) Here's hoping it shows up tomorrow or Wed. or else I don't know what we should do...

They'll take it to the main office and they'll hold it for you, you're all good man.

When I ship seeds, I have several valid return addresses I use in the UK.
In the last month alone, I've had 4 returned mailings due to missing apt numbers.
They are returned marked with standard stamps/stickers as 'undeliverable as addressed', 'insufficient address', 'not deliverable as addressed' or 'unable to forward'.

^^Yeah that's a good idea. But I know a lot of vendors here use fake/not accessible to them return addresses. So I really hope some average joe doesn't stumble across my package...

So loopy, did your shipment arrive?
:-\

As of yesterday no :( Haven't checked yet today but am crossing my fingers! Talked to the apt people again and they said they'd simply fix the address and put it in the right mailbox so I guess that could be cause for delay... 13 days since it shipped from Canada :'(

If you used your correct name and you have mail sent there on a regular basis, it'll find it's way into your mailbox.
When I lived in an apartment complex, half my mail didn't have my apartment number on it, and where I live now, it still gets delivered to me, even if the address is completely wrong but the name is correct. USPS (or the mail carriers around here) is just magic like that I guess.
USPS is going through so restructuring/layoffs, so it might just be taking a little longer than your used to....

Seriously dude? I dont give you any sympathy. You're ordering DRUGS through the government's MAIL SYSTEM and you MISSED YOUR FUCKING APARTMENT NUMBER??? Take this shit more serious next time, you lost that package if it's going back to the post office.. Sorry but buyers who dont PAY ATTENTION when they put their address in just get on my nerves...and if you just "forget" maybe you should stick to street buys. This is an extremely risky business and there is NO room for error.

so far all my packages going to USA via regular letter post takes 4 business days to east coast, and west coast USA from canada.
so I doubt it would come now...

^Yeah but I've read of people ordering from the same vendor as I not getting their package for sometimes 16-17 days.

So, did you.. your friend.. ever receive the package?

I actually did not. Made a really careless mistake and I had to pay for it. Learned my lesson and to all you guys, TRIPLE check your addresses when you submit them. Let my mistake be a lesson :'( :'(
